Sonya Hopson, Board Chair, CEO of Sage Services Group LLC


Fourteen (14) years ago I launched Sage Services Group LLC, a professional services firm that provides engineering and professional services support to government and commercial clients. I started my career as an Engineer at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant before moving over to the aerospace arena. Education includes BS Physics (Norfolk State University), BS Mechanical Engineering (UM-College Park), and a M.Ed. Educational Leadership (George Washington). She is a Certified PMP and a Certified Safety Professional.

William Harrison, Senior Process Engineer

William Harrison is a highly experienced, results-driven consultant with over 15 years of experience who has worked within a wide range of businesses and industries. Will’s career highlights include advising Fortune 100 companies and senior government officials on business process management, emerging technologies, and portfolio management of multi-million dollar budgets. Will has led large-scale and complex change initiatives for various companies, including Fannie Mae, Toyota Financial Services, Humana, and Deloitte Government Services. William supported the largest Federal law enforcement agency with business process re engineering. He was awarded the Department of Justice’s Knowledge Award for innovative practices and solutions; and led a team of consultants, supporting the client’s largest division (over 52 locations) in reviewing, documenting, evaluating, recommending, and implementing re-engineered processes. Will earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Hawaii Pacific University and completed the Sellinger School of Business and Management (Loyola University Maryland) Executive MBA program. He’s also a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force (Captain).

Clayton Mitchell, Executive Consultant

Clayton Mitchell, or “Mitch” was raised in San Mateo,California, Mitch earned his Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, his Masters inCivil Engineering from UC Berkeley and post-grad executive studies at Dartmouth and Harvard BusinessSchool. He completed a 25-year career as a U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps officer prior to transitioning to the healthcare industry delivering over $7B in facilities projects and services across the facilities spectrum to include planning, design, construction, real estate, operations, and maintenance. Mitch’s military awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Meritorious Service medals. Mitch has created an industry leading real estate, facilities, and public safety team comprised of six executives and 850 staff, while driving significant improvements in operating expense, capital project delivery, supplier diversity, and energy management & sustainability. He spearheaded delivery of the largest capital program in Jefferson’s history which included a $762M, 19-story, 460,000 SF Specialty Care Pavilion for the Center City academic medical center as well as hospital towers for two New Jersey campuses. He also led the development of Jefferson real estate and facilities strategies, to include rationalization and realignment of the system’s 18 hospitals, 18M SF real estate portfolio. Mitch worked for 8 years at Kaiser Permanante Health Plan in various capacities, including Interim Vice President of Facilities Operations.

Margareth Legaspi, Chief Education Strategy Officer


Dr. Margareth Legaspi has more than 20 years of experience in education administration. Dr. Legaspi’s academic background includes a BA in secondary education MA in curriculum and instruction focused on bilingual special education a Doctorate in education with a special education focus and a certificate in educational leadership and administration. Dr. Legaspi has served as a special education teacher, researcher, director of assessment, manager of evaluation, Interim Assistant Superintendent and Deputy Assistant Superintendent of early learning in Washington, D.C., and currently the chief education strategy officer at Verite Educational Services.

Uyi E. Osunde, Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Uyi Osunde brings almost two decades of education leadership experience and currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools in Stratford, Connecticut. A thought leader and academic, Dr. Osunde’s expertise resides in whole systems improvement and leadership development. Prior to his 2021 appointment as superintendent of schools, Dr. Osunde served in various school systems as a professional school counselor, football coach, assistant principal, and principal. Dr. Osunde has a distinguished track record of increasing student achievement and improving schools and school systems against measurable indicators. He is committed to working with constituents to ensure equitable and successful outcomes within the school space, and the community at large. Accordingly, he believes that equity work is necessary work and must be at the front of every conversation across the academic organization.

 

Nikki Porcher, Founder of Buy From A Black Woman

Nikki Porcher is an award-winning advocate, author, and founder of Buy From A Black Woman, a national nonprofit that connects over 600 Black Women business owners to education, funding, and visibility. A military veteran and economic justice leader, Nikki has worked with the White House, led national research on DEI rollbacks, and speaks nationwide on Black economic power. She’s building a legacy rooted in action, equity, and empowering others to say yes to themselves.

Montoya L Smith, Mental Activist


Montoya Smith aka Black Socrates is a Mental Activist and the curator of the Mental Dialogue CommUNITY Club a premium referral service for African Americans, which he founded in 2008. Since then, Montoya has been a highly sought-after moderator whose mission is to invoke change through paradigm-shifting dialogues. From his celebrated conversations with community figures to his work to inspire the next generation of leaders, Montoya Smith–philosopher, radio personality, moderator, and activist–has emerged as an outstanding voice for change.

Duwayno Robertson, Battery Systems Quality Specialist


Duwayno has had an extensive career covering 28 years with both, Fortune 500 and startup companies. His engineering experience has dealt heavily with the transportation and conversion of energy. Having begun his career working on some of the automotive industry’s first electric vehicle systems, he has worked with a wide range of energy storage systems.
